For college students, April is filled with anticipation for summer break. Here are some of the best parts of April to help this month go by in no time!
This year, the first day of April brings with it the holiday known for brunches, egg hunts, bunny rabbits, and dressing in your Sunday best.
April 10 is the annual designated day to appreciate the brothers and sisters in your life! Let your siblings know you love them by sending a little love their way, even with something as simple as a text or a phone call.
Tax Day 2018, the last day to file taxes, falls on April 17. If you’re expecting a tax return, it’s always exciting to look forward to having a little extra spending money! It’s an added bonus that lots of students qualify for tax breaks.
The University’s annual Moms Weekend celebration is the weekend of April 13 through 15. If your mom will be visiting, take her to one of the many special events going on around campus! There are many traditions that take place, such as the Horticulture Club’s flower show and a craft show at the Illini Union.
On April 22, take a minute to recognize the University of Illinois’s efforts to be an environmentally-friendly campus. Or take a walk through the Idea Garden or Japan House to admire some of the Earth’s beautiful handiwork.
Rain Boots & Rainy Days
As the old saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers.” This month is notoriously rainy, which means it’s the perfect time to break out your cute rain boots, rain jackets, and umbrellas. Knowing May will be accompanied by bright spring flowers will help get you through the many damp, dreary days to come.
Sexual Assault Awareness Month
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The U of I has lots of excellent resources for survivors as well as education tools, so take the time to familiarize yourself with and spread awareness about sexual assault.
Last Month of Classes
The best part about April is that it is the last full month of classes. Summer break, here we come!
