Sadly, Valentine’s Day has to be celebrated this year amid a pandemic. However, that does not mean you and your special someone cannot find safe ways to celebrate! Here are some cute, COVID-friendly date ideas to try out this Feb. 14.
Movie Night
A classic date idea for a pandemic Valentine’s Day is a good ole movie night. Snuggle up on the couch with a pile of blankets, light a few candles, drink hot chocolate, and eat some snacks all while watching your favorite romance movie or romantic comedy. Watch more than one movie if you want! It’s the perfect cozy night that is fun but also keeps you and your loved one safe and sound.
Cook Dinner
Even when COVID-19 is not a factor, cooking dates are a fun and cute way to spend time with your significant other. Find a recipe that looks good and prepare it together for a fun activity where couples can stay in their homes. After you cook and eat your delicious meal, you can even whip up some Valentine’s Day-themed desserts. Everything will taste even better knowing you cooked it yourself.
Tik Tok Rock, Paper, Scissors Trend
If you are on Tik Tok, you may have seen the recent rock, paper, scissors trend. Jump in the car with your significant other and play rock, paper, scissors to see who gets to choose where you buy your appetizer, main course, and dessert based on who wins what round. Once you play and decide who gets to pick what, you can drive around, listen to music, and head to drive-thrus to get your food! Driving around in the car listening to jams is always a fun way to spend time with your date, and playing this game to see what you are going to eat is a great way to spice it up.
Game Night
Game nights make for an entertaining yet low-key date night. Combine you and your partner’s favorite games, grab some snacks and drinks, dim the lights to set the mood, and let out your competitive side! Games are a great way to make staying in this Valentine’s Day a much more fun experience and something everyone should try.
Even though the pandemic may be preventing us from having normal Valentine’s Day dates, there are still plenty of great options to have a great time with your loved one while doing your part to stay safe. You can even try combining all these options for an entire day packed with fun activities to look forward to. Watch a movie and play games, cook your meal, and then watch a movie while you eat it. All will be sure to keep you entertained and give you a Valentine’s Day like no other.
