2020 has brought turmoil none of us could have ever predicted. Beginning with the Australian brush fires and ending with the pandemic we have been living in for six months with some murder hornets thrown into the mix, it has been the wildest ride we never signed up for. Needless to say, we’re all going through a tough time right now, and no one quite knows when it’s going to be over. Anything even a little negative added on top of the events of this year feels unmanageable. That’s why we decided to make the theme of this month’s issue “One Day at a Time” to help you focus on the now instead of worrying about the future.
There are loads of pieces in this issue that revolve around you spending time on yourself, including how to stay calm during a global pandemic, ways to stay as healthy as possible, and some organization tips to keep you on track this semester. There are also a few articles to prepare you for the worst should you happen to fall ill, such as a coronavirus survival guide and kitchen essentials for those self-quarantining. For those of you looking for some light material to relieve your spirits, check out this list of good things that happened this year and how to cope with bad news. Look forward to content like this and much more in the September issue of The Spread. And remember: This month is all about closing your eyes, taking a deep breath, and living your life one day at a time.
Sincerely,
Rachel King, Editor-in-Chief
