As we all know, many music artists don’t release information about an upcoming album until right before its release date. We hear a lot of chatter and buzz about popular artists and whether or not they’ll release new music in the coming year. I’ve done some research to figure out what albums we’ll be looking forward to hearing in 2020.
Drake

Drake is a huge artist for the younger crowd, and his new album is undoubtedly going to have over a billion streams, just like his most recent album Scorpion. At DaBaby’s concert in Toronto this past December, Drake came on stage to perform. Before he left the stage, he said to the crowd “I’mma go back to the crib and try to finish this album so we can turn up in 2020.” After the recent release of his singles “When to Say When” and “Chicago Freestyle”, Drake’s new album is one I will be listening to on repeat after it comes out.
Lady Gaga

After the recent release of her single “Stupid Love”, Lady Gaga announced that her new album is not far behind. The album called Chromatica contains 16 songs and will be released on April 10. The buzz around her album is that it will be returning to the dance-pop sound she had in the beginning of her career.
Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi’s album has been a long time coming. We haven’t heard an album from Bon Jovi since their 2016 album This House Is Not for Sale. In a recent press release from the band, the album will supposedly be covering tough topics like gun control, politics, and the meaning of family in their new album Bon Jovi 2020.
Dua Lipa

If you haven’t heard her hit single “Don’t Start Now” you need to listen to it after you read this article. I hear it all over TikTok and it’s one of my current favorites right now. Her album will be released on April 3 and is influenced by Gwen Stefani, Blondie, and Madonna. This is definitely an album to keep an eye out for and download once it’s available.
The Weeknd

We’ve waited 4 years for The Weeknd to release his next album and it’s finally here. On March 20, he will be releasing After Hours. So far, we’ve heard the album’s singles “Heartless”, “Blinding Lights” and the album’s title track “After Hours”. If the album is anything like the singles we’ve heard already, it’ll be one to listen to right after its release.
Sam Smith

Sam Smith will soon be releasing his third album To Die For on May 1. We’ve heard many of his recent singles all over the radio that will hopefully be featured on his next album. Smith is collaborating with Jimmy Napes and Stargate on the title track, leading me to believe this album is definitely one we’ll be hearing on the dancefloor.
