Dear Readers,
Spring has officially sprung, and it is both an exciting and beautiful time of year. Between the chirping birds, blooming flowers, and endless sunshine stretched across a cloud-free sky, one can’t help but feel inspired. For this monthly issue, we at The Spread wanted to channel these same feelings of reinvigoration as we head into April.
Because spring is often synonymous with a fresh start, this issue features several pieces that capture this essence of the seasons changing. Reference our spring cleaning guide to say goodbye to the old and declutter, or embrace the new and enliven your wardrobe with this year’s must-have spring fashion items. This month could also be the perfect time to develop new habits or pick up a new hobby – and this issue has you covered for both! Read our advice on taking a cleanse from social media (as reducing screen time is something we could, and should, all improve on), and potentially find a new favorite pastime from our latest podcast recommendations.
We are also proud to feature the continued travels of our magazine’s photographer and videographer as he studies abroad in Europe this semester. For this month’s gallery installment, we are excited to explore the sights of London, England; Dublin, Ireland; and Salzburg, Austria.
Whatever your schedule looks like this month, make sure to appreciate this beautiful weather and just have fun! It can be easy to get caught up in everyday routine or ensnared in the online lives of other people, but this can come at the expense of letting opportunities for lifelong memories to pass you by. I encourage you to make time every day of this month to live in the moment, to say “yes” to new adventures, to spend authentic quality time with the ones you love, and to take care of and prioritize yourself. Much like spring represents a clean slate for the year, your life this month represents a blank canvas waiting to be painted. And remember – you don’t have to be an artist to make something beautiful happen.
Sincerely,
Madison Gillespie, Editor-In-Chief
