Welcome to the December Issue

Dear Readers,

With a whirlwind of flurries and rush of cold air, the month of December is finally here. Our university also appears to have gotten the message: soft white and gold lights are strung up in trees around campus; shop windows are painted with snowflakes and candy canes; and even Alma has been dressing in her winter best lately.  Of course, amidst the beauty of the season, one cannot forget about final projects and exams being just around the corner. Since many late nights still remain between now and the end of the semester, we at The Spread want to gift you (pun intended) with a collection of work to binge read during your study breaks!

In this December issue, there are plenty of winter and seasonally-focused pieces for you to get your holiday fix. Whip up a unique hot chocolate or eggnog recipe for a boost of energy with your studies, or reminisce on some great holiday episodes of your favorite TV shows to watch when you need a break. Check out our guide on fun indoor activities or dates for a snow day, and find some new favorite songs with our recap of the best albums released by artists this year. We are also excited to feature interviews with three students who will be studying abroad next semester in an exciting new video.

I hope the last few weeks of the semester go well for all of you, and that you have  relaxing winter breaks with the people you care about most. From everyone on The Spread’s staff to you, we wish you the most kick-butt performance on finals and the happiest of holiday seasons!

Sincerely,

Madison Gillespie, Editor-In-Chief
