With the holidays just around the corner, it’s time to get into the season’s spirit by watching some of the most festive and hilarious TV show episodes.
1. Seinfeld – “The Strike”
This might be an old show, but it’s a classic! George finds a way out of giving gifts to his coworkers by making donations to a made-up charity. When he gets caught, he claims that he celebrates Festivus, a bogus holiday invented by his father, instead of Christmas. Meanwhile, Kramer goes on strike because his employer won’t give him time off for Festivus.
2. Parks & Recreation – “Ron and Diane”
Donna, Andy, April, and Tom are on their way to celebrate the annual “Jerry Dinner,” a meal paid for by putting a dollar in a box every time Jerry does something stupid. When they begin feeling guilty about their terrible tradition, they decide to stop by Jerry’s house to invite him along. It turns out that the bullies have been missing the annual Gergich Christmas party all along, where Jerry and his inexplicably gorgeous wife pull out all the stops.
3. The Office – “Moroccan Christmas”
Jim wraps Dwight’s desk like a Christmas present, Meredith catches on fire, and Michael forcibly drags her to rehab. Dwight monopolizes the market for the season’s hottest toy, and Phyllis spills the beans about Dwight and Angela’s relationship. It’s the perfect storm and one of the most iconic Christmas episodes in the series.
4. That 70s Show – “The Best Christmas Ever”
When Red gives him money to buy a Christmas tree, Eric cuts one down from the side of the highway and uses the cash to throw a party in the basement while the grown-ups celebrate upstairs. In the middle of everyone’s holiday festivities, a state trooper shows up to take Mrs. Foreman’s prized Christmas tree.
5. Friends – “The One With the Holiday Armadillo”
To teach Ben about Hanukkah, Ross dresses up as “the holiday armadillo, your part-Jewish friend.” Add Superman and Santa Clause to the mix and you’ve got yourself one of the most hilarious Christmas episodes in the history of Friends.
6. The Big Bang Theory – “The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis”
To make sure his gift matches the prestige of the one he receives from Penny, Sheldon buys gift baskets in every size, intending to return all of them except for the one he decides to give to her. When Penny’s gift turns out to be better than he ever imagined, Sheldon gives her all of the gift baskets and the most awkward hug of all time. This episode is a classic.
