The cold weather is here, and it is time to bundle up. It can be hard to layer without looking like a marshmallow, so here are some of my favorite pieces to wear when trying to look fashionable while staying warm in winter!
This is a good layering piece, especially on those days when it’s not too cold. You can wear this over a sweater and keep the rest of your body warm with gloves and a hat.
With so many colors and styles to choose from, scarves are a great way to look fashionable this winter. You can really customize the scarf to your own personal style, all while staying warm; win-win!
Gloves and mittens are a simple and practical way to stay warm. Reach for gloves that are Sherpa-lined to stay extra warm. Also, check for pairs with touchscreen fingers in order to get the maximum use out of them.
4. Parkas & Jackets
A jacket or parka is essential to keeping warm, and are an easy way to show off an outfit! Fur-lined hoods add an interesting touch to any outfit as well.
5. Teddy Jackets
Teddy jackets are very on trend this winter season, as they were last year, and they are a a good way to look cute and actually stay warm. Keep it simple underneath with a sweater, and let the teddy speak for itself!
Cardigans are great to layer underneath your jackets and over your sweaters this cold winter. They are great layering pieces to wear indoors as well, if you’re still cold but don’t want to wear your heavy jacket.
7. Hats/Beanies & Head Wraps
Choosing the right head accessory is a great way to complement your layered winter outfit. It adds stylish flair as well as keeps your head warm for those windy, icy days.
8. Fuzzy Socks
Your feet are important too! Wearing long, thick, fuzzy socks is something small and simple you can do to accentuate an outfit and complete your winter shoe look.
Sweaters are the ultimate winter essential for staying warm. This is the base to layering. Sweaters are easy to dress up or down for nights out or casual days in alike.
- Wear leggings underneath your pants to stay extra warm this winter. Try this when you know you’re going to be out in the cold for a while!
- Buy fleece-lined clothing and leggings to stay even warmer.
