What’s in my Makeup Bag?

By Yuhan Ma

This makeup bag has always been my essential, no matter where I go. It is great for traveling due to its large capacity. What I put into my makeup bag when I travel is always changing; because I have such a huge collection of makeup products, they can never fit into one bag! So here are the products I keep in my makeup bag now, which also happens to include some of my recent favorites.

FOUNDATION: Giorgio Armani Beauty Crema Nuda

I have been using Crema Nuda for a year now, though I have tried many other foundations during this time. Whenever I want my skin to look flawless and fresh without looking like I’m wearing too much makeup, however, I always go back to Crema Nuda. This is a foundation that I can trust anytime, for any occasion. It doesn’t have much coverage, but it feels very lightweight on my skin. I also like the natural, radiant glow that it gives me. There are several skincare ingredients in this product, so your skin will still look good even after wearing makeup all day long.

CONCEALER: It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Anti-Aging Waterproof Concealer

I have pretty serious dark circles and under-eye bags, which unfortunately don’t get better with sleep because they are genetic. Concealer has always been my most important makeup product as a result, and I’m always searching for full-coverage options. This is my favorite concealer as of recently. I usually prefer cream concealers over liquid ones because creams generally have better coverage. This liquid concealer is an exception and the only one I would use for my under eyes, because of the amazing coverage it provides. Since it is also very moisturizing, it doesn’t get cakey at all. A tiny amount goes a long way, and it stays on my face all day long.

POWDER: Sephora Collection Matte Perfection Powder Foundation

This is a hidden gem I accidentally found when trying on too much of a new blush at Sephora (and accidentally making a disaster on my face). A BA passed me this powder foundation and told me to use it to cover a bit of the “mess” on my cheeks. I shop plenty of makeup brands that Sephora carries, but I had never paid much attention to their own products. As soon as I blended this powder on my face, though, I wondered how I had managed to miss it for so many years! The powder felt extremely smooth on my skin, with a matte finish that was not at all drying. The coverage was amazing considering it’s a powder foundation, and it made my super red cheeks look much more natural. I was so glad I found this little gem, and I have been using it a lot since I bought it. It also comes with a sponge and a mirror, making it very travel friendly!

BROWS: Etude House Drawing Eye Brow

I have been using this eyebrow pencil ever since I started wearing makeup, which is a pretty long time. It is very easy to use, goes on smoothly, and stays on for a while. There is a variety of shades to choose from, all at a super affordable price. The brush head on the other end of the pencil helps you to blend the color into your brows more naturally.

EYESHADOW: Canmake Perfect Multi Eyes 03 Antique Terra Cotta

These are my favorite eyeshadows this fall. You can never go wrong with reds and browns this season, and this palette is a perfect dupe for Chanel Les 4 Ombres #268. The powders feel so smooth and blend well across my lids. The color payoff is pretty good, and the colors look beautiful by themselves or all together. Whenever I’m not sure what eyeshadows to wear, I always go with these.

BLUSH: Nars Blush #Sex Appeal

This blush always makes me feel adorable every time I wear it. It is a soft peach with a matte finish. The color is very light, so I usually apply several swipes to achieve the color payoff I want. But I think what is good about it is that you can never accidentally put too much blush on your face. This sweet color goes with any makeup I wear, whether it’s a dramatic look or something simple for everyday.

LIPS: MAC Satin Lipstick #Mocha

Mocha by MAC is my favorite nude lipstick recently. This peachy yellow-brown looks good on any skin color. The texture is smooth, and the satin finish looks beautiful on my lips. The color looks just like a cup of mocha or milk tea, which helps give me a bit of warmness in the fall and winter seasons.
