If you’ve been keeping up with fashion and beauty blogs, you have likely encountered this trendy color. A simple combination of classic neutral shades, “greige” (as the name implies, gray and beige, often with a hint of dusty mauve or purple) is taking retailers by storm. From clothing to nail polish to lipstick, there are plenty of ways to make this trend your own. Here are some tips for incorporating greige into your everyday look!

CLOTHES/SHOES/ACCESSORIES

One of the best things about greige is its versatility. As a neutral shade, it can easily be dressed up or down for any occasion. Also, because greige can be a bit on the darker side, it lends a bolder sort of element to your outfits without much effort.

Because this is a unique color, try pairing one greige item with clothes either in complementary, lighter colors, or with all-black clothing. Both methods will allow the cool, grayish-plum tones to stand out in the look. Whether you’re heading to work or class or just running errands, you’ll be doing so in style.

MAKEUP

In addition to looking good in your wardrobe, greige also has a place in your makeup bag. A light dusting of gray or pinkish eyeshadows on your lids will easily accompany any casual look, or provide for simple workplace makeup. Blend in some darker gray or purple shadows for a night out, and add a matching greige lip if you want to be especially daring. The darker lip color is also great for those with a more alternative, edgy, or grunge clothing style.
