Fall in the Midwest is my favorite time to bring out my most unique and favorite clothing from my wardrobe. With chilly mornings, hot afternoons and cooler evenings, a wide array of options are available to mix and match for various styles of daily wear. Here are my outfits from this past week:
Last Saturday for Block it was surprisingly 85 degrees, so I decided to make the most of the bizarre weather with a more summery outfit. I wore my black bandeau top from Forever 21 with some high-waisted “mom jeans” from American Eagle. To make the look more cohesive, I put on a black belt and wore my black and white Adidas sneakers.
Sunday was a more relaxing day for me, and substantially cooler. Out to lunch with friends, I wore my carrot jeans and a large fuzzy sweater from Urban Outfitters, with socks and Birkenstocks to complete the autumnal look. For fun, I added one of my longer necklaces to compliment the sweater.
Monday evening with my friends, I decided to wear a more bold outfit with the overall color scheme being black. I went with a black pencil skirt from Forever 21, black bralette from Tobi, black choker from American Eagle and a black mesh floral shirt from Urban Outfitters. Against the dark background, the floral mesh shirt stood out as the statement piece.
Tuesday I brought out my carrot jeans from Urban Outfitters again, this time contrasting the loose fit with a tighter turtleneck from American Eagle. I wore my tie-dyed headband and a longer moonstone necklace to decorate the rather plain top.
Wednesday I decided to keep it simple with a flowy peach dress from Free People and a pair of gray sandals. To spice up the look, I added a few silver and turquoise rings, as well as my tie-dye headband again.
On Thursday it was warmer again, so I wore my new high-waisted black ripped jeans from American Eagle. I went with a darker tube top to match the black jeans and finished the look with a shorter necklace.
Friday I went to Chicago, where it was predictably much cooler. For a more urban look I put on my Adidas sneakers, American Eagle mom jeans, and a longer sweatshirt/hoodie that I got from Free People. I also decided to wear my new floral print fanny pack from Urban Outfitters to give the look a unique twist.
