Dear Readers,

Welcome back to the start of another great year! While we have been in school for over a month now, fall has only just begun. The trees on campus have dashes of orange through their leaves, candy corn and pumpkin-flavored goodies are popping up at grocery stores, and the temperature is almost chilly enough for s’mores and bonfires. It’s easy to see why fall is a favorite time of year for many college students.

All of us here at The Spread share your sentiments, so this issue highlights the best of what the season has to offer! Peruse this month’s articles for some reminders why fall truly is the best season, jam along with a playlist featuring go-to songs for October, and use our Halloween-themed date ideas as a guide for your romantic endeavors this autumn.

In addition to fall-related content, make sure to check out our ongoing series as well! This month’s installments of UIUC Student Fashion, YouTubers of the Month, Doggos of UIUC, and Monthly Favorites are sure to provide you with photos, videos and suggestions to keep you entertained all October long. We are also proud to present a featured interview with student Billy O’Donnell this month, who interned with California clothing brand johnnie-O Apparel at age 18!

Plenty more topics await in this month’s issue, so I will leave the rest of them to you! I hope you all have an October filled with substantially more treats than tricks. From everyone on The Spread’s staff to you, happy reading and enjoy the rest of your month!

Sincerely,

Madison Gillespie, Editor-In-Chief

PS – Only 23 more days left until Halloween!
