What to Binge Watch Over Spring Break

By Carmen Castillo

If you don’t have plans for spring break and plan on binge-watching a bunch of television shows, you have come to the right place. I am going to share some of my favorite shows so that you can check them out yourself! I watch quite a few genres, so hopefully you’ll find something you like. Trailers and sneak previews are also included below.

Baby Daddy

If you like sitcoms, you will love the show Baby Daddy. Baby Daddy is about a man named Ben who happens to be in his twenties when he finds out that he has a daughter after a one-night stand. The mother of his child has left the baby at Ben’s doorstep. After thinking it over, he decides to raise the little girl with the help of his brother Danny, his two friends Tucker and Riley and his loud, kind-of-controlling mother Bonnie. Baby Daddy will have you laughing out loud and begging for more. Also, it almost has 5/5 stars on Netflix. The new season starts on March 13, so try to catch up in time for the new episodes!

Bob’s Burgers

Bob’s Burgers is another hilarious sitcom. It can be extremely inappropriate sometimes, so don’t let the animation fool you. The show is about a family, the Belchers, running their own burger restaurant. Bob is probably the most conservative in the family, always trying to avoid messy situations. Linda is the fun-loving mother. Tina, the oldest child, is described as “a hopeless romantic with a powerful sex drive and minimal social skills” by the Bob’s Burgers Wiki. Gene is the middle child and only boy, and is described as “an aspiring musician and prankster.” And finally, Louise is the youngest and more aggressive child who is more likely to start the problem than solve it. If you have a good sense of humor, this show might just become one of your favorites.

The Challenge

If you are into reality TV, you have to watch The Challenge. The Challenge is a competition show with a whole lot of drama and a whole lot of hookups. Cast members from MTV’s The Real World and Are You The One? are brought into a house to compete for their share of a huge amount of cash. You don’t have to see the challengers in their previous shows to enjoy this one. This season, rookies are brought on the show thinking that one of the them will become a champion. What they don’t know is that some of the toughest, strongest, and most intimidating Challenge champs are training to invade their house and maintain their titles as champion. If you want to check out this season of The Challenge, Invasion of the Champions, or previous seasons like Battle of the Exes or Rivals, just head over to MTV.com.

Are You The One?

rutheone

Are You The One? is about 22 singles who move into a house on a romantic, tropical island to find their perfect match. Before entering the house, these singles have been through tons of compatibility tests for experts to identify potential matches. Now, they have 10 weeks to identify who their perfect match is. The only way to verify a perfect match is for the couple to go into the Truth Booth and be told if they are a match or not. At the end of each episode, couples pair up for the matchup ceremony where they are told how many matches have sat together but they don’t know who the matches are. That’s something they will have to figure out. If they can correctly identify all eleven perfect match couples before the end of the ten weeks, they get to split one million dollars. The show gets extremely interesting when people start falling in love with the wrong person and tensions are high when people start fighting for the same person. Will the house play with strategy or play with their hearts? You will have to watch to find out.

Websites like MTV, VH1, Lifetime, Oxygen, etc. also offer episodes online for free, so if you don’t have Netflix or Hulu you should definitely check them out. Some also offer LIVE TV, which is perfect for when you aren’t home but want to watch on your laptop or phone.
