Starting in March 2014, the State Farm Center has undergone many phases of renovations. These changes have made available a more elegant and accessible experience to Illinois fans.
One of the biggest makeovers was to Orange Krush, the men’s basketball student section. Before the renovation, this section was limited to an area directly behind one of the baskets and the seats were bleachers. Now there are more than 1200 individual stadium seats devoted to Orange Krush members, located behind both baskets and behind the benches of both teams.
In addition to more Orange Krush seating, there is an exclusive area inside the SFC called the Orange Krush Club. Although it is not fully functioning yet, the club will be available for the 2016-17 basketball season. Students will be able to hang out here before games start.
There is another new area reserved for courtside ticket holders only. Club 53 is equipped with a full bar, two flat screen TVs and snacks.
Similarly, the Traditions Club is available to people that are willing to pay a bit more for their tickets. These individuals have access to premium seating, excellent food service and a full bar.
Finally, 12 suites were added to the SFC, each with 12 seats. Fans also have the opportunity to purchase up to four extra standing room only tickets. All suites are equipped with a full bar and food service.
With all of the changes to the State Farm Center, it has become much a more enjoyable place for fans. All renovations will be complete in November 2016, by the start of the 2016-17 basketball season.
