Fall Adventures: Curtis Orchard and Pumpkin Patch

By Vanessa Herrera

Oh, the beauty of fall. From the crunchy sound of colorful leaves to comfy sweaters, fall is my favorite season of all time.

But you know the best part of all? FALL ACTIVITIES! Oh yes, I am that one person that loves to partake in as many fall activities as humanly possible.

With so many potential activities to choose from, it can be hard to decide what to do.  Fortunately, you have come to the right place!

Pumpkins are one of the big highlights of fall;  everything seems to be pumpkin spice flavored and pumpkin pies are suddenly relevant again. This past weekend I visited the land of pumpkins: Curtis Orchard and Pumpkin Patch.  I’m in love with this place and it has become one of my favorite places to visit each year.  There so many fun activities to do with your whole family.

The minute you set foot onto their (literal) yellow brick road, your inner child will want to burst out. The air is always filled with the smell of fresh kettle corn, and the sound of goats melds with that of children’s laughter to create a beautiful melody. Not only that, your eyes are graced with a sea of bright colors. What more can you ask for?

Plus, you will never get bored at Curtis Orchard.  Feel like feeding the goats?  Go for it.  Want to ride a pony?  Why not, they have plenty!  And if you woke up wanting to get lost, you can go to the corn maze!

Oh wait! Who could forget about the mouthwatering apple donuts sold in the general store? These donuts are made fresh and handed to you like a warm, delicious present.  Get some apple cider to go with them, and you’ve got yourself a winning combination.

Of course, one can’t forget about the pumpkin patch.

During my visit, I found the most perfect pumpkin waiting for me in the field. It was like finding my soulmate with ’80s music playing in the background; I couldn’t have been happier finding such a great pumpkin!  If you visit, you are sure to find your own adorable pumpkin companion as well.

Fall is only here for so long, so take a break and enjoy it while it lasts.  Hopefully you can spend part of your time at the Curtis Orchard and Pumpkin Patch! It is one fall activity that you will never regret doing.
