Great Holiday Gift Ideas For Your Honey

By Danielle Wetterer

Buying gifts for the ones you love the most is something that comes naturally to some, or for people like me, is one of the most difficult tasks of all. My problem is that I don’t listen for hints throughout the year, so when it comes time to buy gifts, I end up in a rut. I don’t know what to do, so I end up buying gifts that I would like to receive, hoping to God they like it too. But now that I have a boyfriend, I have to open up my ears a little and step up my game, and I would like to share with you some awesome gift ideas for your significant other–especially if you’re like me and find yourself in this situation every year:

If you’re buying for a girl here is a lovely idea: jewelry. You can never really go wrong with jewelry. I recommend the Pandora charm bracelets. Your girl would also love some pretty lingerie (no, not the skimpy kind, the nice, pretty kind). Perfume is always a good way to go, but be sure you pay attention to see what kind she already has. Chances are, she’s hooked to a particular smell and who knows, maybe that smell is part of the reason you fell in love with her in the first place. Another gift that girls like (at least romantic crazy girls like me) is a mixtape with all the songs that make you think of her. Girls also like flowers and kittens that have a collar that say “I love you”, and if you’re going for a Christmas engagement, do the whole shebang and put a note on the collar saying, “will you meowy me?” Chicks dig that.

I’m not a guy so I don’t personally know what they would love, but my bets are on the fact that they love you, so anything you get them will mean something to them. This year I got my boyfriend a sexy, classy watch (so he can be on time to our dates, just kidding, he’s always prompt when it comes to me) and cologne, only because we were shopping for our family members and we got everyone cologne and he kept saying he wanted his own. One last present I bought him is my favorites because it’s unique to our relationship. Unique presents are important in a relationship because it shows your significant other that you’re paying attention to what they love, and how important their interests are to you as well. And don’t just think what you like is what they like as well, really take into consideration their personal interests and hobbies. His favorite food in the entire world is pancakes, so I got him pancake mix and syrup from Cracker Barrel, one of our favorite restaurants. All of these things came from the heart so I am positive he will love them. I am also throwing in a tablet and an iPod because I am just that nice.

These are just a few ideas. There are tons more out there, and like I said before, if you’re giving them gifts from the heart and not just buying the first things you see, your boyfriend or girlfriend is going to love them no matter what, because the person they love gave it to them. Gift giving to significant others is a no-fail type of situation–unless you totally screw up and give them peanut butter when they’re allergic to peanuts. Then you’re just on your own pal.
