iPhone 6 Pre-Order Sales Break New Record

By Danielle Wetterer

Apple has done it again! With the recent release of the iPhone 6 and 6 plus, Apple users have gone crazy all over the world trying to get their hands on one of these gadgets. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus were scheduled to release September 19th, in stores across the nation both in store and online stores like Amazon. Here’s a little something for you to try to wrap your head around, according to Sebastian Anthony on ExtremeTech.com, “the iPhone 5 in 2012 only had 2 million pre-orders.” The key word in that statement is only. He goes on to predict that Apple will see first-weekend sales well near the 10 million ranges.

Apple announced that the iPhone 6 and 6 plus broke every record sale there is. So for those of you who thought Android was starting to take over and beat Apple out with the Galaxy 5S, think again! With pre-order sales being at 4 million in the first 24 hours, it beat out pre-order sales for the iPhone 5, 5S, 5C, and the Galaxy 5S. They sold out so quickly that restock time is now up to a month in the Unites States. If you weren’t one of the 4 million to pre-order, you’ll have to wait about a month for a chance to buy the new iPhone.

It’s honestly so crazy to me how technology runs our lives. I’m no saint in this category either. For instance, I just bought an iPad this week simply because I wanted to. I already had a tablet.

Yet, our world has become dependent on these materialistic things, and we always need more, more, more. So many people who already have an iPhone will do so much to get the next best thing. But for what? Is it to be cool? Whatever the reason is, it’s making Apple rich.
