Unofficial is a day of fun for all students. Whether you are participating in the festivities of the day or simply people-watching, you will need to quickly re-fuel with food without missing a thing. Here are my top food picks for Unofficial:
I recently learned that Joe’s has the most underrated and best burger in Champaign. Not to mention great fries and mozzarella sticks. The establishment consistently has deals on food, and the best part is, if you are 21, you can eat and drink all at the same place since Joe’s is also a bar.
2. Antonio’s Pizza by the Slice
Once you try Antonio’s, I guarantee you will be back at least once a week. Luckily, it is fairly inexpensive and you have the option of getting one of the large pieces or a whole pizza to share with friends. I recommend the BBQ Chicken Ranch Pizza (with ranch dressing drizzled on top-YUM) and the Greek Pizza, featuring feta cheese and olive oil. Also, this fine establishment is located on Green Street, right at the center of action at Unofficial.
Located on John Street, Insomnia is your best bet for food in the early hours of the morning. After a long day and night of partaking in Unofficial shenanigans, a cookie is the perfect food to settle your stomach and take the edge off an intense headache and exhaustion. The cookies are always fresh, warm and come in a variety of flavors like Snickerdoodle, S’mores, and Peanut Butter. If you are feeling especially hungry, I recommend my personal late-night favorite: a Snickerdoodle and a vanilla ice cream sandwich.
